To keep things exciting on Halloween, Brooke decided she wanted to visit the ER. After trick-or-treating, she pulled my Kitchen Aide blender (type noted because they are HEAVY!) off of the bottom island shelf onto her big toe. After several minutes of her screaming and not calming down, we figured that we should go ahead and take her in to get it checked out. I was afraid she had broken her foot at the base of her big toe. After x-rays, they said that she had a clean fracture in her toe that didn't need any surgery, but that we should keep her off of her feet. Remember, she is two, which is pretty much impossible. So, we pulled the couch bed out and let her play on it which worked pretty well. She broke it on a Saturday, and we were able to see an orthopedic on the following Monday. Luckily, he said we just needed to keep her tennis shoes on at all times except for sleeping. So, she was free to walk and play which with her shoes on, she had no problems. This made both of us happy! We had to keep her shoes on for 4 weeks. It is still healing as it is still a shade of purple/pink, but she is able to walk much better now. The doctor said that she may not get the flexibility back in the toe, but it looks like it is starting to come back.

Several days later...
