August Fun

August was a busy month for me and the girls. Audrey and Brooke left August 2nd with Uncle Hunt, Aunt Heather and the boys headed back to Louisiana to spend time with NeNe andMawMaw.

Elmer and I celebrated my birthday and our 10th anniversary while the girls were gone. It has been a great ten years, and God has richly blessed our marriage. The girls had a great time swimming, going to a jumping place, having sleepovers with their cousins and visiting family. I joined them on the 10th and had a great time visiting with family and friends. Aunt Katy and Uncle Micheal even came in from Arkansas for a visit. We had a cookout at Pawpaw Nick's shop and then left for Gulf Shores. We had a great time. Scarlett, Shelbi, Ms. Diane, Danette, Kara, Michael and Katy also joined me, Mom and the girls at the beach.

Audrey loved the beach. She made sand castles, rolled in the sand and even caught a sand crab by herself.

Brooke did not like the sand at all. If it got on her foot she would say, "my foot dirty, my foot dirty - clean it!" She loved the water and the waves as long as she was held and did not have to touch the sand. Her idea of playing in the sand was to lay in the lounge chair and reach it with her shovel.

We had a great time at the beach. I'm so glad we were able to get away and bring the girls.

Children's Museum

Uncle Hunt, Aunt Heather and the boys came to visit the end of July, and we went to the Children's Museum. The kids had a great time and really enjoyed all of the exhibits. One favorite exhibit for all of the kids used ping pong balls and golf balls. They had a few ramps to launch them on and a big funnel. Brooke really enjoyed placing the balls and watching them fall. In this same room, they had a section for cutting and designing pieces of paper to be placed over an air vent to watch them fly. This was Audrey's favorite, anything using scissors and paper can occupy her for hours. We had to drag them out that room! Click on Brooke below to see more pics...

Princess Camp

Audrey attended Princess with a Purpose camp the last week of July. She had a great time, and the camp was really neat. The purpose of the camp is to teach little girls what it means to be a true princess as a daughter of the King. Her favorite part was the puppet show and the crafts. She made an apron that had her handprints on it and decorated a pink cowboy hat with a tiara. It was really cute. Brooke and I would drop Audrey off each morning and fill our time running errands. At the end of the week, Audrey's age group performed a song and said prayer. She did great on stage and did all of the movements to the song. At the end, she tried to curtsy and it was so sweet! Brooke Sleeps in Big Girl Bed

Brooke has been wanting to sleep with Audrey in her bed for a while now. After we read books, she will pull the covers up and say night, night. We have tried leaving them together a few nights, but usually Brooke aggravates Audrey and then we have to move Brooke to her bed. I had a MOPS meeting the other night, and when I came home Elmer had left both girls in Audrey's room. We heard Brooke talking a few times, but neither one of them came out of the room. At 10:15 pm, I went to check on them and Brooke was wide awake and Audrey was sound asleep. Brooke then tells me, bye bye mommy, bye bye mommy, which means leave me in this bed and get out! Audrey came in our room at 6:10 and wanted to get in our bed, but I told her that Brooke would be scared if she woke up and Audrey wasn't there, so she needed to wait until it was daylight in her room before leaving. At 6:20, Audrey came back in our room and then I hear Brooke say, hey mommy! Needless to say, Audrey decided to wake up her sister so she could come lay in bed with me.

Audrey's Singing Debut

We had VBS last week and they let the preschool sing before family night. Audrey has been wanting to sing at church for a while now, so she was really excited to get to sing. I have attached a clip from her favorite song, "Boomerang Express, It all comes back to Jesus." We heard this song many many times throughout the week. She even added a little hip action of her own to the movements of the song. It was really cute. Her friend Brayden is to her right with the #22 shirt. Brooke wanted to sing too, but once the music started and everyone was looking at the stage, she quickly got down.

Lobell Family River Trip

Audrey wanted to take a boat ride, so Uncle Hunt and Uncle T organized a trip to get her down the river. We had a great time, and Audrey skiied for the first time! After watching Blake do it, she was really excited to try. She did great and even skiied a long way. Uncle Hunt was on the knee board beside her, and her dad was in the water helping her get started. She was a little concerned about leaving her dad in the water, but she held on and went. She also rode on the tube with her cousins. We had a great time. Click on the picture above to see more.
